Me and my bestest friend

February 5, 2010

As you know….the monsta doesn’t like to give those beautiful, natural smiles anymore. It is cheese galore with him. Yesterday was different. We were playing outside and he told me NOT to bring out my camera. I said ok. After we came in to warm up again, I asked him if I could bring it out. (Can you believe I have to ask?) He said yes. We were tackling eachother on the front lawn because that is what a Mom of boys is required to do and I said, OOOH, let me set up the timer and take our picture. He said yes. He sat down, I focused and pressed the shutter and ran to him. He got a kick out that. Everytime the camera beeped faster, he laughed. The 5 pictures I took are all great and I will cherish them forever.

Eggy on a Raft

January 29, 2010

Another Grandma favorite that I remember growing up:

Eggy on a Raft

DSC_8219

Butter bread (I used whole wheat).  Toast on one side in a frying pan till a little brown.

DSC_8222

Take out and pinch/cut out a hole in the center (pop that part into your mouth)

DSC_8224

Crack egg carefully into the hole

DSC_8228

Cover and cook on low till your egg is perfectly runny but cooked (I sound like Martha Stewart LOL)

Like this (if you are wondering where the other one went….I ate it)

Served this with a side of strawberries

and give you that cheesy-yummy smile that you just love!

I think I’ve started something…

It has totally been done before BUT not by me.  I like these shots and I think I will continue them over Cubby’s first year.  I see a change already and these are only a few weeks apart.

I wish my Gram could have met David.  She would just love him.  She would probably sing one of her classics…

It is 2010 and all I have to talk about is peas! (are peas)

January 6, 2010

I’ve been working on a 2009 video that will be done shortly and I’ve been avoiding posting because I wanted that to be the first post of the new year but…….

I’ve been so busy that it had to take the back seat. So, I offer you…..

PEAS!

They are good. They are green. My boy asked for them. He ate them by the tablespoon full. You got em.

Happy 2010 everyone!

Passing the time

Super cold outside and the Monsta has a cold. Decided a little fun was in order. He certainly had fun stacking the books.

Don’t worry……I dressed him up warmly right after and tucked him into bed. zzzzzzzzzzz

Sassy and Classy – A Maternity Shoot to remember

December 16, 2009

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to shoot a good friend of mine. She is pregnant with twins! I posted a couple of her pics here but since I loved so many….I wanted to post more. She was full of fun and spirit and it came through in her photos. Ask me how much I love my job. Go on ask……..  I love it!

Brisk Sunday

November 29, 2009

It has been non-stop hosting for us since Thanksgiving. Today, we finally had the day to ourselves. I spent the morning at a maternity shoot with one of my good friends. We have been dancing Flamenco together for years with Sol y Sombra and now she is pregnant with twins.  Here is a glimpse….

Doesn’t she looks fabulous?

Now, we are hanging around the house. Craig is busy in the yard and Ben is helping.  I’m tending to the cub and editing photos.  I ran outside to see what was going on and snapped this one of the Monsta.

He is too much with making all these faces.  Who knows how I will get a nice shot for our holiday card.  That will take some skillz on my part for sure.

He is doing stuff that I can’t see or hear

September 10, 2009

Are you sick of my poolside flowers yet?

It is now Thursday and I realize that I never discussed the Holiday weekend.  Briefly…..Friday: Went out to dinner with Craig and had delicious filet mignon at the Grill Room.  That place is great a couple of times a year (no more).  Saturday:  Had a bunch of friends over for a bbq.  That was really fun and relaxing.  Sunday:  Took a ride to visit my BIL’s new home.  It was a lovely day and they were perfect hosts.  Thanks Corey and Marti.  Monday:  Totally exhausted, we napped (or at least I tried) and hung around the house all day.

back to today—

Ben is at school again right now.  I still can’t get used to the fact that he is doing stuff that I can’t see or hear.  Is that weird?  When he stays with family (which is often) at least I get the scoop when I get back in detail.  Now it is just not the same.  I’ll get over it I’m sure.  It is the beginning of many things I won’t know – Good God…I need to have this conversation in a few years!

Off to pick up my little cutie.

…the walls have been blank

August 10, 2009

It’s been about 3 1/2 years in our house and I’ve yet to decorate.  Sounds pretty ridiculous but it is true.  When we moved in it was March ‘06 and I had the Monsta in May.  Life was so busy with a newborn and then after that it was one excuse after the other.  Well, now I’ve finally got my livingroom underway.  We had a wall unit built that was designed by my Aunt and now she is helping us with the rest of the room.  We have picked out fabric that I will make pillows with and a window treatment.  I’m really excited.  I’m also working on a collection of photographs that will hang above our couch.  It is a huge wall and I decided to do four 20 x 20 prints.  The accented colors are red, yellow and orange.  Thinking about some flower shots.  What do you think of this one?

Does it work well together with this one?

I’m not sure about it, I totally need advice…….
