I would say about 90% of my Earth & Skye Photography business is based on referrals.  It is truly a wonderful thing.  Facebook has played a HUGE part in it as well.  Did I say HUGE?  HUGE.  What I find amazing about Facebook is that my photos reach people in so many places.

This session I would like to share with you came to be because we were visiting my Brother & Sister-in-laws in Chappaqua  last summer and they introduced us to their friends.  They just had a baby and of course we were all like, awwwwwww…isn’t she the most precious thing.  Anyways, I snapped a picture and sent it to them because I thought it was really sweet.  They ended up loving it and booked me for an official shoot for baby D’s 6 month photos.

It was so much fun.  Baby D is full of personality and has the greatest smile.  Let me share some of my favorites with you…

I had the pleasure of meeting up with an old friend this weekend because she asked me if we could do a session with her son.  He is turning six you know.  We had done four year old photos but things have changed since then.  P is a big boy now and entering 1st grade.  He is full of smiles and loves to goof around so we chased each other, played and well…goofed around in beautiful gardens.  What more could you ask for. 

I’ve known Mama for quite some time now as we used to work together back in the late 90′s.  She is a good, smart person and her son follows suit.  I’m so happy for her.  She has got a great little family.

Good Morning! 

Things are looking good this week.  

Sun seems to be out.  

Garden is near completion.  

Had a great Mother’s Day weekend too.

Trying to stay really healthy this week.  Back to the basics.  Fiber cereal for breakfast and maybe some tuna for lunch. 

Sometimes, I have to take a step back and look at the week as a whole to actually make things happen.  Do you have to do that?  If I live one day at a time, things just don’t fall into place.  Believe me, I’m not that organized of a person. 

Here is my little rough tough cub to make you smile.  Included is a nice rug burn from the stairs… right between his eyes.

We made a gingerbread house! Have you all tried to make one? You see, I don’t like gingerbread anything and I also am not a big fan of icing, so the thought of making one of these houses sort of grossed me out. We were in AC Moore and lo and behold, the end-cap with kits for making your own gingerbread house. I couldn’t escape it, the Monsta spotted it immediately. He HAD to have one. I didn’t even give him a hard time about it. I simply said, “OK, but you know it is only for decoration, right? You don’t actually eat gingerbread houses and the candy it comes with is really yuck!” Gosh, I’m brilliant. He went along with the whole plan.

And he meticulously placed ALL the candy on the house. I did the icing part. I couldn’t believe the care he put into putting the pieces on so carefully and neatly. He did want to try a piece so I let him taste one and he said it was so gross he couldn’t believe it. He then spit it out. I was safe.

We had a great time and he is super proud of his construction. I recommend it to all!

I’ve always loved traditions. There is something so warm about them. One of my favorites is pumpkin picking. Maybe it is the crispness in the air or the smell of leaves burning but Autumn has got to be my favorite time of year. I’m a Libra so you can see why the rich colors of this season rock my world. I just love looking around at all those oranges and reds and yellows and browns….what a delight. And what about the sound of walking in the leaves? Crunch Crunch.

Well, when we decided to go pumpkin picking last weekend, it was a pretty gorgeous day. When the sun hid behind the clouds, it was all those things I mentioned above. For the most part, the sun was out…..and it was quite warm. We are usually with friends but this year it was just our sweet family. David was much more of a participant this year than last.

He is the one in the blue with the fuzzy ears. I remember that day so vividly. Sigh….he was so little.

This time around he was mobile and loving it.

Nothing like a little bedhead and a headlock…

My sweets! These kids are the best things that have ever happened to Craig and I. I love them more than the universe!

Gosh, I’m getting mushy gushy. Ok, folks….signing off and leaving you with this little but of sugar…

Me: (radio playing) Oh! I think this is John Mayer.

Ben: This is John Mayer?

Me: Yes, I think it is one of his new songs.

Ben: Why does he always have new songs Mommy?

Me: Because he is a singer and singers always come out with new songs.

Ben: Oh, like Baa Baa Black Sheep?

Me: Um, yeah…sorta

Ben: Does he sing Baa Baa Black Sheep Mommy?

Me: I guess he could sing that song if he wanted to.

Ben: Oh, I guess we just wouldn’t hear it on the radio then, right?

Me: Right sweetheart.
